Therefore, we offer you flexibility! You can choose to work from our offices in Lisbon or Braga, or remotely from any location in Mainland Portugal. Nonetheless, our tribe is our beating heart so we often organize company events and gatherings to bring MB.ioneers together. While some are optional, we would require your presence for certain team events and/or occasions.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
As a Summer Intern, you’ll become an integral part of our cross-functional teams, working alongside engineers, analysts, designers, and product experts on real-world projects that have global reach and impact.
You’ll gain hands-on experience from day one and be encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership of tasks, and build solutions that are used in over 60 countries.
This is a full-time summer internship and English is our working language. You will be assigned an onboarding buddy to support you during the internship.
As a Backend Engineer Intern, you will:
Support the development of modern backend software that powers the digital commerce experience for Mercedes-Benz.
Help build and maintain microservices-based web applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
Collaborate within a cross-functional team (including frontend, QA, DevOps, and product) on backend-related tasks and features.
Learn and apply DevOps principles to contribute to the testing, deployment, and monitoring of backend solutions.
Participate in team discussions to solve technical challenges in practical, efficient ways.
Assist in designing software and system architectures, gaining exposure to technical specification processes and proven design patterns.
Contribute to the quality and security of our software by writing unit tests and following best practices in code hygiene and modern security standards.
TO SUCCEED YOU NEED
To be currently finishing your degree in a computer science, software engineering or related technical field
To have a way of working that is characterized by team spirit, excellent communication skills in English (mandatory) and high-quality standards set to yourself for what you produce
To be willing to embrace DevOps and Agile methodology
To be willing to learn from a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team
Some professional experience/internship experiences are a plus but not mandatory.
