From the Inside Out: The journey to our new Digital Home
I’m really excited to share a personal story with you, one that represents months of effort, collaboration and transformation: the complete revamp of our Mercedes-Benz.io website. This wasn’t just another project on our to-do list. It was a journey that brought people together from across the company to build something meaningful, something that reflects who we are today and the direction we’re heading.
After almost six years, it was clear that our website no longer mirrored the dynamic, growing company we’ve become. We needed a fresh start, something that felt alive, current and true to our identity. We set out to create a platform that’s not only beautiful but also user-friendly, accessible and deeply aligned with our brand values. And more than that, we wanted people to feel something when they visited. To understand our essence, to see the opportunities and to maybe even imagine themselves as part of our story.
Throughout this project, our company values were more than just words on a wall. They guided every step we took. Collaboration was the heartbeat of the process. Our UX Designers joined us in feedback sessions to make sure every click, every scroll, every interaction felt intuitive. Our internal communications team dove deep into the content, refining and rewriting to ensure the tone was just right: human, approachable and on-brand. Our SEO review made sure that all this work would reach the right people. And the brilliant development work of João Luís turned vision into reality with precision, dedication and care. This was our tribe in action, a collective effort that reminded us of what we can achieve when we move together.
One of our biggest goals was to be truly customer-centric. We wanted the people who visit our site to feel seen and understood. Especially potential applicants. We asked ourselves: how can we make it easier for them to connect with us? The result is a much more intuitive experience, with improved filtering and search tools that help people find roles that actually match who they are and what they’re looking for. The blog also got a massive upgrade, now featuring filters, sorting and topic tags that help readers explore content in a way that feels natural. Whether someone is curious about tech, innovation or company culture, the path is clearer, and the content feels more personal. That’s impact.
Building a solid design system from scratch was another proud moment. It might sound technical, but it represents our commitment to excellence. Everything from buttons to banners now follows a clear, scalable structure. It’s cleaner, smarter and ready to grow with us. No more patchwork fixes or clunky add-ons. Just a strong foundation we can build on with confidence.
In the end, this wasn’t just about launching a new website. It was about telling our story in a way that feels real and resonates with the people we want to reach. It’s about showing the world who we are, what we care about and what we’re building together. We aimed to make an impact, and I truly believe we did. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more grateful to everyone who played a part in bringing this to life. This new website isn’t just a win for our company. It’s a reflection of the people behind it, and I am really proud to have been one of them.
