In this full-time and permanent position, we are offering a great opportunity to take over responsibility in driving and developing our Data Compliance Management System, enabling our company’s teams and departments as well as ensuring a state-of-the-art documentation within our systems.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS

You would join our Business Operations department. As a key pillar within Mercedes-Benz.io business operations, our multi-disciplinary Legal & Compliance Team consists of Legal, Compliance and Data Protection specialists working closely together between Portugal and Germany to establish our Mercedes-Benz.io custom made Compliance Culture. To be compliant with all applying regulations while preserving our agile and modern way of working is a constant challenge that we are happy to take care of.

In this full-time and permanent position, we are offering a great opportunity to take over responsibility in driving and developing our Compliance Management System, enabling our company’s teams and departments as well as ensuring a state-of-the-art compliance documentation within our systems

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

Establish, refine and preserve our Data Compliance Management System in close collaboration with our experts in the team
Analyze legal and regulatory requirements, translate them to the Mercedes-Benz.io setting and address resulting implications within the company
Make sure all GDPR requirements are being met by supporting your colleagues in fully grasping and living up to data protection standards
Be the gatekeeper and caretaker of our company’s Record of Processing Activities
Support in setting up contracts and agreements regarding data protection
Give advice on calibration and implementation of tools we operate with to ensure their compliance with data protection standards
Remain in close contact with our IT security and data management experts
Constantly challenge and improve processes as well as their thorough documentation
Be the go-to person in the company for any data protection and privacy questions and a trustful contact point for employees in compliance matters
Spread your expert knowledge in consultations, workshops and trainings

TO SUCCEED YOU NEED

A degree in law, data governance, compliance, or IT related studies
Proven experience in a data governance / data protection role and advanced knowledge in data protection law
A confident appearance and experience in conducting trainings and workshops
A hands-on and collaborative mindset
A proactive personality that just loves to get things done
Strong organizational skills in order to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and English
A high degree of professional ethics and integrity as well as a high level of confidentiality

THERE WILL BE BIG SMILES IF YOU

Feel comfortable in a fast-changing environment
Have previous compliance experience related to medium to large sized companies with tech focus
Can call a certification in data protection or privacy by a recognized certification body your own (i.e. CIPP/E or CIPM)
Have a well-developed intercultural competence and social understanding
