YOU Season 3: Stories That Stay With You
There’s something quietly powerful about hearing someone share their story, not to impress, but to connect. That’s what YOU has always been about. And if there’s one person who’s kept that spirit alive since day one, it’s David Afonso. You can discover more about everything that’s behind this project here.
The first and second season showcased the diverse stories that shape who we are and celebrated the individuality that strengthens our tribe.
Now in its third season, the project continues to explore the stories that shape our people: stories of identity, resilience, adaptation, and pride. This time, four MB.ioneers opened up about the moments that changed them. And in doing so, reminded us of what it means to be human at work.
Let’s revisit their stories and the shared layers they’ve helped reveal.

Episode 1 - Henrique: On Pride, Visibility, and Finally Feeling at Home

Season 3 started with a story about belonging, the kind that doesn’t come easily when you grow up without representation. Henrique shared what it was like to grow up in Brazil as a queer person, constantly scanning for safety, never fully seen.
Moving to Portugal, and joining Mercedes-Benz.io, gave him something he hadn’t experienced before: the freedom to be himself, without filters. His story is a reminder that belonging doesn’t begin with fitting in. It begins with visibility.

Episode 2 - Vivian: On Neurodiversity, Understanding, and Owning Your Story

Vivian’s episode is one of deep self-awareness and strength. She opened up about receiving her autism diagnosis as an adult, a moment that helped her make sense of the past and step more fully into who she is today.
Her story highlights the importance of feeling understood and supported, not just as colleagues but as people. Because when we embrace neurodiversity, we’re not just being inclusive, we’re building smarter, more compassionate teams.

Sujit’s story is full of quiet wisdom. He talked about moving from India to Europe, navigating cultural shifts, becoming a parent, and juggling his roles as a developer, a dad, and a self-proclaimed overthinker.
It’s a story of humour, honesty, and personal growth, a reminder that adapting doesn’t mean changing who you are. It means discovering new ways to thrive, even when life gets messy.

Episode 4 - Ricardo: On ADHD, Fatherhood, and Embracing Your Mind

This season closed with a deeply personal reflection from Ricardo, who shared how discovering that both he and his daughter have ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) changed his understanding of himself and the way he shows up for others.
Rather than seeing ADHD as a challenge, he’s learned to embrace it as a source of creativity, energy, and connection. His story is a reminder that when we accept what makes us different, we unlock entirely new ways of growing — at work, at home, and within ourselves.

Why YOU Matters
YOU isn’t just a series. It’s a commitment to listening, to empathy, and to the messy, beautiful complexity of being human.
This project is more than just storytelling, it’s a reflection of our Tribe. A space where connection, belonging, and shared humanity take center stage. It reminds us that our stories shape our culture, and that within this Tribe, no one stands alone.
If you haven’t watched Season 3 yet, this is your sign. Embrace your layers.
