Test, Experiment, Delight: Reflections from the Digitale Leute Summit
For Pedro Oliveira da Silva, the 2025 edition of the Digitale Leute Summit marked his return after first attending the event in 2024, a year that had already exceeded his expectations with strong speakers, hands-on sessions, and meaningful opportunities to connect with professionals in software product development. Having the summit hosted once again in his city of Cologne made it easy to immerse himself fully in the experience.
This year, themes ranging from AI-accelerated experimentation to surprising your users with delight offered far more than industry buzzwords. The sessions sparked reflections Pedro brought back to his team and community, ideas he's still exploring months later.

Ideas That Spark Change
Among all the insights, two themes made a lasting impression. The first was the set of sessions on AI-powered A/B testing and prototyping. Watching real users interact with features in real time and seeing product teams use dynamic data to accelerate decision-making opened new perspectives on experimentation and learning.
The second came from a talk on wearables by Campbell Orme. Seeing how these devices are changing the way we interact with the world and imagining the possibilities ahead was a powerful reminder of just how fast technologies are evolving and user experiences are changing.
A Talk That Stood Out
One session in particular stayed with Pedro: Nesrine Changuel's talk on User Delight. Through delightful examples and a concrete framework, she offered a new lens that inspired Pedro with new perspectives while visiting other panels, creating genuine excitement about how important it is to generate excitement for users in their product experience.
From Buzzwords to Practical Insights
Artificial Intelligence (AI), User Experience (UX), delight, architecture... these topics were everywhere, but what made the summit valuable was how grounded the discussions were. Speakers shared very real, hands-on experiences: considering the risks behind implementing conversational commerce, the challenges of keeping users engaged, and practical ways to improve user experience.
AI was clearly a central theme, and the variety of perspectives (some very realistic, others more exploratory) made it clear that while the buzz is loud, the work behind it is substantial and unlocks new challenges to overcome in the upcoming years.
What to Bring Back
For Pedro, one mindset stands above the rest: test, experiment, delight. He believes there is still so much to explore, and that learning only happens when teams try things out. In his view, agility without impact isn't real agility – the goal should always be to create meaningful outcomes.
As he puts it: "Make sure you excite your customers. Not everything is about enablement, delight matters too."
